This is a soft back book and a bit on the slim side, but that does not mean it is not a wealth of knowledge about this artist. He became the Great Russian Painter of his time . In the beginning of his works, he quickly went through several styles. He grabbed onto Fauvism and then in 1912 the pace of his work heightened . He began his cubistic period and they were well received. There are several color pictures during that period. Then the book covers what he is best know for....... and that is his "Suprematism" He was the first painter to do the " Black Square " painting , which is shown and very famous. Other artists jumped onto this new and simple style. There are many pictures of he and his friends and family throughout the book. In his final years he went back to a Russian folk painting.. Malevich dies at 57 from cancer, quite a loss to many. There are also photos of his procession. They even put up the Black Square as a marking. His work is still inspiration for artists of today. The book is 95 pages and contains a lot of information in those pages.
